Bereavement affects all of us. During our lifetime, someone close to us will die. Bereavement is the reaction
to loss of someone or something that really matters to us. It is most often a person to whom we have a close attachment -
but other losses might include separation, disability, leaving or moving home or job loss.
Grief is a response to to bereavement and loss and this can be associated with anxiety, depression and illness. Those suffering
from bereavement typically visit the doctor more frequently than would be normal for them
I work with clients to help them come to terms with their loss. The client works towards a different relationship with
the deceased, the self and the environment. This involves a number of stages but the objective is always to restore a sense
of balance for the person concerned.
